Asus Eee - in Desktop form.

Good
news for fans of the Asus Eee PC! The desktop version of the Eee PC
will be available in August, this summer. The price is unannounced,
however it is expected that Asus will announce the price very soon.

With
the desktop, buyers will get a Windows XP Home machine running on
Intel's Atom N270 processor at 1.6GHz, 1GB of DDR2 RAM and an 80GB hard
drive.

The usual connectivity options will be in place, along
with three USB ports and a VGA out for connecting a monitor - you'll
need to supply the screen yourself, of course.

Asus has said
that it will add Linux to the mix later in the year, at which time we
expect other hardware configurations to surface too.

Success of Asus Eee if depending on its cost for sure!!!

Eee is usually very well priced, imagine an Eee Laptop is available in India for as less as 16700. now thats value !!

But then again, HCL also has some very well priced laptops up its sleeve, priced 13k for Laptop & 18k for Tablet PC

The Pricing has been relvealed in UK. The Wii-like computer will cost £199 ($392) [ Rs. 16600 ] including keyboard and mouse -- and will pack an 80GB HDD and a DVI out. It will come with Windows XP Home pre-installed while those two USB ports are confirmed

just add a external 500gb HD and it becomes downloading rig

not to mention it looks perfect for a HTPC as it merges nicely in any room without causing any clutter, though i would prefer importing a mac mini from US for myself than buying this. sure the mac mini would be little expensive [rs 25000] but it would be a MAC ( a thing of beauty )
